Make Your Very Own Curcumin Complex

Introduction

One of the most commonly used spices in the world, turmeric has been used for thousands of years and is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It can also be used to treat digestive issues like bloating and stomachache. Unfortunately, turmeric isn’t easily absorbed by our bodies unless paired with something else. This is where curcumin comes into play!

Ingredients

To make your own Curcumin Complex, you will need:

  • Turmeric root and ginger root. Both are common spices that can easily be found at most supermarkets. If you want to buy them online (and avoid paying for shipping), there are plenty of options at sites like Amazon or Thrive Market.
  • Cinnamon sticks, which can also be found in most stores or bought online as well. Again, if you are trying to save money without sacrificing quality or convenience, buying cinnamon sticks in bulk is a great option since they have such long shelf lives (up to 3 years!).
  • Black pepper and cayenne pepper – these two ingredients also go hand-in-hand with curcumin because they help increase absorption of the turmeric/ginger combo into your bloodstream by as much as 2x! Just remember that too much black pepper will give people who don’t normally eat spicy foods stomach aches so start small before adding more later on if needed.”

•           1 cup fresh turmeric root (or 1/2 a cup dried)

To make your very own Curcumin Complex, start by gathering the ingredients. You will need:

  • 1 cup fresh turmeric root (or ½ a cup dried)
  • 2 cups water or coconut oil

•           1/4 teaspoon ginger

Ginger is a root that has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. It’s one of the most versatile spices out there, and you can use it to make everything from curry to ginger ale. In addition to being delicious, ginger also has some impressive health benefits that we should all be aware of:

  • Ginger is great for nausea and vomiting. There are many natural remedies for morning sickness during pregnancy, but this one may be one of the best. Some women even prefer it over over-the-counter drugs like Pepto Bismol because it’s safe and won’t cause drowsiness or other side effects.[1]
  • Ginger can help relieve pain from arthritis and osteoarthritis.[2] One study found that taking 1 gram per day reduced joint pain by about 30%, though more research is needed before doctors can recommend adding this spice into your diet on a regular basis.[3]
  • You don’t have to suffer through another bout with traveler’s diarrhea! Just add 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger root directly into your food while cooking (you can also chew on some raw slices if they’re available).

•           1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

  • Cinnamon is a spice that can be used in countless recipes, but it’s also been around for centuries as a medicinal herb.
  • Cinnamon has been shown to help lower blood sugar levels and cholesterol, and it can even be used as an anti-inflammatory agent.
  • The cinnamon bark contains iron and calcium, both of which are essential to health!

•           1/8 teaspoon black pepper

  • Black pepper is a spice used in many cuisines.
  • It’s a source of iron and manganese, which can help with your digestion and weight loss.

•           1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)

  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed

•           1/2 cup water

To make your own curcumin complex, you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup water

The water is essential to the recipe. It’s used to dissolve the gelatin and turmeric so that you can mix them together with the ginger.

•           3 tablespoons gelatin

Gelatin is made from animal collagen, and is a protein. In fact, it’s one of the most abundant proteins in our bodies! It helps with digestion, and it also helps with hair and nails. It’s great for your skin too because it can help to clear up blemishes by speeding up cell turnover.

You can either buy gelatin or make your own from scratch at home. If you want to make it yourself, please note that some recipes call for boiling water (this will destroy any beneficial enzymes) while others suggest microwaving water until warm – neither of these methods are ideal because you’ll lose most of your gelatin’s health benefits if you don’t use cold water instead (see below).

Instructions

Prepare the molds by washing them with warm, soapy water, rinsing thoroughly, and then drying with a paper towel.

Place 2 ounces of coconut oil into a small saucepan on low heat. Heat until liquefied but not quite simmering (about 175 degrees F). Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.  Place the curcumin complex powder into a medium bowl or container. Add ¼ cup of hot water to it and stir well until there are no clumps left in the mixture. Now add 1 teaspoon of melted coconut oil and stir again until clumps disappear fully before adding another teaspoon of melted coconut oil, repeating this process until you have added all four tablespoons (1/2 cup) of melted coconut oil to your mixture then stir well again so that there are no lumps left at all before moving onto step 3 below!

1.         Peel the turmeric and ginger roots, then wash them well.

  • Peel the turmeric and ginger roots, then wash them well. Remove any dirt with a brush or by rubbing with your hands.
  • Use a spoon to scrape off the outer layer of skin from each root until you get to the smooth yellow interior (this should take about 30 seconds per root). You may need to wear plastic gloves if it’s difficult for you to peel off all of this outer layer without getting any residue on your hands, which can irritate sensitive skin! And make sure that you don’t cut yourself on any sharp edges that may be present in older roots; these can be very sharp when peeled away from their green exterior, so use caution when doing so!
  • Dry off both roots by patting them gently with paper towels; soak up as much moisture as possible from both types before proceeding further down into this recipe’s process where we actually blend everything together into one easy-to-make supplement! Once dried thoroughly enough not

2.         In a small saucepan, add all of the ingredients except for the gelatin and water. Stir well to combine, then add water and stir again. Add in gelatin, stir to combine, and place over medium-low heat.

3.         Using a small whisk, stir constantly until the gelatin is dissolved and the mixture thickens slightly. This should take about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes in a cool place before pouring mixture into molds (silicone are the best due to their flexibility). Place in fridge for at least 2 hours before popping them out of the mold! Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks or freeze for up to a month.

Conclusion

You can now enjoy the benefits of curcumin in your own home, without having to worry about additives or fillers.
